We interviewed individuals to see what their response would be to my plan. Their responses are as follows.
Out of the people interviewed for this bill, only two opposed it. Both Mr. Scott Danes and I interviewed our parents, but only Mrs. Danes opposed the bill. Mrs. Danes believes that," athletes who participate in college athletics already receive the value of free education at an intuition and should not receive payment. She believes that the payment to athletes can be a catalyst for the decrease of educational drive and work ethic. Athletes should focus on graduating with a high degree setting them up for a good future in the workplace." On the other hand, Mr. Frank Danes agrees with the bill but believes there should be some restrictions, as he states,” He agrees that there should be a set limit for all division 1 university programs around the country. The money should come from the revenue that is generated from the sports and dividend out to the athletes monthly. He believes that payment to athletes should not be optional, this will allow the range between top programs and minor programs from growing." My parents, Mr. Rayos, and Mrs. Rayos agreed with Mr. Frank Danes, but they had a set dollar amount. When I asked him the amount, he said,” between $750 to $1,000 a month." This way they do not receive too much money, but still receive money for their basic needs. When you are a college athlete, you do not have the option to work. Even if they were able to work, when would they have the time? I know for high school sports, you have early morning practices, after school practices, film sessions, and even in the off-season, you have workouts and such. So how are they supposed to get the money without getting a little bit of money from the millions of dollars that the school receives annually? As my mom states,” Their is in-season, off-season, practices, games, and many other things that go into an athletic career in college. While they spend all their time in sports, there is no way for them to get money besides for their schooling or scholarship from the school." This is why my parents believe that student athletes in college should be given a little bit of money to help out with basic expenses, since they are so consumed in athletics and school. Mr. Christian Simanonis interviewed his mother, Marcy Simanonis, and she said that college athletes should be paid from the revenue that the sport makes. She also agreed with my mother when she says,” Also said that college athletes aren't allowed to get jobs during their seasons so they need some sort of income that they can spend recreationally." But when Mr. Simanonis interviewed his neighbor, Jeff Storm, he did not agree with the bill, even though he believes it will work. His belief is that college athletes already get paid in scholarships, and that they shouldn't get paid anymore. Mr. Edwin Carlos interviewed Mrs. Ventanella, and his sister, Ms. Enjelica Carlos, and they both agreed on our issue. Mrs. V agrred that division one college athletes should get paid but it should be in an agreement of what they get to send that money on or if it is put in the scholarship. But Ms. Carlos believes,"that if college coaches are getting paid millions and the colleges/NCAA are getting paid millions of dollars of athletes performing," then college athletes should be paid. Our answers, based on our research, to their objections and concerns are that athletes should indeed be paid to play. All of our members agree on this, "but we also agree that the official amount should differ between sports but for each specific sport around the country, the amount will be the same", as Mr. Danes stated. That way it will keep the range from the top programs to the smaller programs, so the less prominent programs have an opportunity to receive top athletes.

My father believes that the disparity between major college programs and minor programs around the country. This meaning that that schools such as Stanford, Texas, USC and Notre Dame will continue to recieve the best and more promient athletes from around the country while other minor division 1 schools will not even think of going. After reviewing my(our) solution with him of giving dividends to all athletes he gave some suggestions and repsonse. He believes that colliagte athletes deserve payment from their work. I interviewed my parents, Mr. John Rayos, and Mrs. Lynn Rayos, and they both had the same response to our indentified problem. I talked with my father, Mr. Rayos, and stated that I agree that college athletes should be able to get money to help pay for expenses and such, but they shouldn't be given too much money, and should be paid monthly. When I asked him the amount, he said,"between $750 to $1,000 a month." Mr. Rayos belives that they should be paid this amount because this will help pay for basic needs and expenses, and give them a little extra money for themselves, since they can't get a job with a sport. College athletes put in all their time towards studies, but even more time into their sport. If universities are making millions of dollars off their athletes from marketing and other ways, the athletes should be given some money to help with expenses. If they need a haircut what do they do? That is a basic need, or new toiletry items, these are all basic needs and expenses that can help be paid with the little money the athlete will get from the school.
